Skype releases updates for affected versions of the chat service failure

The company released a new version of software for Windows, Mac, Linux and Windows Phone.

SAN FRANCISCO. - The Internet telephony software Skype released an update for its clients on different operating systems after a crash announced yesterday.


According to the company yesterday, the error occurred in some versions of the software and made that if the application failed and closed, the last message sent in a chat is sent to a separate contact, chosen at random.


The company, owned by Microsoft, announced an update for their version of Windows, Mac, Linux and Windows Phone, platforms affected by the fault.


While the update is recommended for all users, requiring only those who currently have installed Windows versions 5.1, 5.8 for Mac, Linux 4.0 and 1.2 for Windows Phone.
